About

Want to improve your life through simple lifehacks?
Maybe you love DIY and are looking for some inspiration.

You’ve come to the right place.

Welcome! My name is Joshua.

Before we take flight into some awesome ideas I assume you’re on the about page to get more information about me – I’ll make it quick.

Hello there! I’m Joshua.

I’m a tinkering handy man, full time stay-at-home dad to twin boys, military spouse to my inspiring and adventurous wife, and since you’re reading this, now a blogger.

I started Gander Flight to improve your life through sharing simple lifehacks and pointers, furnish inspiration for DIY projects, and present my unique perspectives – because really, how many other men do you know that are full time SAHDs, to twins, and a military spouse? (I’m the only one I know of, so if you find any more send them my way!)

I spend many days at the playground with my boys, exploring wild areas, tinkering with discarded items I pick up curbside, listening to audiobooks or podcasts, struggling with the fact that it’s dinner time, AGAIN, and I have to come up with something to eat – seriously why do people seem to want to eat E-V-E-R-Y day? – and now waking up before the kiddos to turn my laundry list of life-improving ideas into concrete form and share them with you.

Why the name “Gander Flight”?

Gander, the term for male goose, combines with flight, synonymous with journey, to describe my journey as a man, husband, and father.

In addition, I’m always in awe when I see a flying V in the sky and the habits of geese are quite intriguing – if you’ve not come across the popular leadership writings about geese take a gander (wawaaa) by clicking here: lessons from geese.
